Parsian 2 refinery overhauled and put into operation

TEHRAN (PIN) – The refining units of Parsian 2 were overhauled and the refinery resumed its work yesterday.
“As the cold season is approaching, the refining units of Parsian 2 that have been removed from action for repairs since Sept. 13 become operational as of today (Sunday),” reported Parsian Gas Refining Company.According to the report, the second compressor of the refinery’s gas pressure station sidelined for technical fault restarted work Saturday.
Parsian gas refinery in Fars Province is to be connected to South Pars region in Bushehr Province via a four-lane highway.
Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) announced that Mohr and Lamerd cities in Fars Province and Parsian city in Hormuzgan Province will be developed considerably in the near future due to their geographical link to South Pars region.
When the highway to Pars Special Economic Energy Zone is finished, the time needed to travel from one point to another will be shortened from 95 to 24km.
The highway will be constructed according to EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) scheme in two 14km and 10km pieces over one year and is to cost POGC 868 billion rials ($93.8m).
The first part of the highway will include construction of 1,400m tunnels and its completion by Rah-e Sahel Institute of Khatam-ol-Anbia Reconstruction Headquarters will cost 381.37 billion rials.
That part of the road will also include 14 bridges. The second part will also include a tunnel. The whole highway will run from Mohr city in Fars Province to Assaluyeh in Bushehr Province.
Parsian gas refinery is among important refineries of Iran, which is located in Mohr and fed by Tabnak, Homa, Varavi, and Shanol gas fields.
Ethanol produced by the refinery will be taken to petrochemical complexes at Pars Special Economic Energy Zone in Assaluyeh to be converted into ethylene and other petrochemical products.
Propane, butane, and natural gasoline produced by the refinery will be taken in fluid form via pipeline to the Persian Gulf for exports.
Pars Oil and Gas Company had already constructed Jam-Taheri-Parak highway over 48 km at a cost of about 960 billion rials ($103.7m).
The highway was officially inaugurated in March by Mohammad Rahmati, minister of road and transportation, as well as Seyyed Kazem Vaziri-Hamaneh, former minister of petroleum.
Pars Oil and Gas Company is in charge of developing South Pars, North Pars, Golshan, and Ferdowsi gas fields.
